Paper Planter is a social enterprise founded by students of Enactus Fleming College. Using diverted paper waste collected on the college campus, students manufacture and sell mini biodegradable starter plant pods.
The primary target market is elementary school teachers within Ontario. The main educational turnkey kits include a lesson plan written by teachers to align with the Ontario School Curriculum. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the company had to pivot to target parents teaching their children during lockdown and looking to instill the same ideals in the educational kits.
The primary challenge for this brand is that it serves two distinct customer bases with varying needs. The solution is a fun, modern, and organic logo that mimics the silhouette of the product, while adding symbolism of recycling to showcase the brand's sustainable values.
The purpose of the logo design is to stand out among the marketing of teaching aids and activities for kids found on Pinterest. A common resource that both teachers and parents turn to when seeking activities for their children.
